When you pass through the waters, I will be with you...  Isaiah 43:2

Pregnancy and childbirth are often depicted for women as a time of sickness and mood swings, followed by twelve to twenty-four hours of pain and hard labor.  Many women have been told they are "not built" for a natural delivery.  Some are told that they can never conceive at all and still others have suffered the pain of conceiving, then miscarrying.  All-in-all, childbirth is more often than not viewed as nothing more than a "neccessary evil"...  What a shame!  Granted, complications do occasionally arise, but my hope, at the very least, is that the mama's I support can go into their births with confidence and a joyful anticipation.

Birth is one of the most trying -- yet infinitely rewarding -- events in any mother's life... every expectant woman deserves a doula.
